Core Features

Our history dates back to the 1960s, when Cavaliere Michele Palmese, carrying on an ancient family tradition of master blacksmiths dedicated to the production of agricultural tools, introduced the first hot steel forging process for agricultural spare parts and founded ICRAM (Industria Costruzione Ricambi Agricoli Meridionale).

Our product range includes blades, blades for choppers, hammers, bushings and spacers,  spades, blades for trenchers, bolts, tines,shares,  socs for tiller or chisel dents,  knives and blades for rotary harrows as well as custom-made parts  manufactured according to customer specifications.

All items are entirely produced in-house and are fully compatible with the indicated machinery brands.

Special Anti-Wear Coating

Special Anti-Wear Coating

All products can be supplied, upon customer request, with a special anti-wear coating made of tungsten and chromium.
This treatment significantly extends the average service life of the tool, ensuring improved durability and performance under severe working conditions.

Zappettificio Palmese has always been committed to environmental responsibility by using water-based, chromium- and lead-free paints, implementing energy recovery systems along the production lines, operating with high-efficiency, low-energy-consumption equipment, and using recyclable packaging materials. In addition, our facility is entirely powered by electricity generated from photovoltaic panels, further reducing our environmental footprint.

Production Process

Our products are manufactured exclusively from 30MnB5 boron steel, specifically designed for hot forging.

The first stage of the process involves cold cutting of the billets using dedicated shears. The semi-finished parts are then heated in special furnaces to temperatures exceeding 1,000°C, allowing them to be forged and shaped.

The final stage includes heat treatment, followed by painting and packaging of the finished products.

Our entire product range is strictly manufactured at our production facility in  in Marigliano, near Naples, Italy, where passion, a strong focus on quality, and the careful selection of raw material suppliers, together with continuous investment and constant, meticulous monitoring of heat treatments, allow us to produce components of outstanding quality.

After the manufacturing process, our products achieve maximum elasticity, high impact resistance, a hardness level of 48–52 HRC, and long service life with excellent wear resistance.

A large part of our products is packaged in practical and durable boxes that not only enhance and highlight the quality of the items, but also allow for better storage and easier handling and transportation for the customer.

Industry 4.0

ICRAM PALMESE S.R.L. has launched a robust investment program to enhance and optimize its production capacity in line with Industry 4.0 guidelines and to improve the environmental sustainability of its manufacturing processes. The company’s new technologically advanced machinery significantly improves productivity indicators.

As part of this program, the company has invested in:

  • Photovoltaic System

  • San Giacomo Presses

  • Hyster Electric Trolley

  • FCS Srl Furnace

  • Predictive Maintenance Software

The new predictive maintenance software included in this investment allows for precise and historicized monitoring of machine data, providing clear benefits in terms of continuous improvement, including preventive and predictive maintenance, energy consumption analysis, and anomaly detection. Predictive maintenance reduces costs, increases operational safety, and minimizes environmental impact, aligning with circular economy principles.

The investment also includes a new photovoltaic system, drastically reducing energy consumption.

The new production lines have been designed to increase overall productivity by automating preparation and setup operations for production orders. The program focuses on enhancing production capacity while ensuring high-quality products, regardless of batch size. This meets market expectations, particularly for customers who demand exceptional quality even in small production runs.

Through this targeted investment, the company combines production flexibility with product quality. The program also emphasizes Industry 4.0 criteria as a fundamental step for improving production processes, quality, flexibility, and the continuous performance enhancement of the company.

The new machines allow for a 30% overall reduction in production time, as automation enables greater competitiveness and lower production costs. These interventions are expected to achieve significant energy savings within the production facility.

In line with its long-term development strategy and evolving production needs, the company has established an investment program aimed at further increasing competitiveness and productivity. Following this investment, the company will be able to:

  • Achieve vertical integration of production through the interconnection of new machinery with the company’s central system.

  • Remotely monitor the operational status of machines and production order progress.

Participation in the “Sustainable 4.0 Investments” program (Ministerial Decree of 10 February 2022, Directorate Decree of 12 April 2022), implemented in Marigliano (NA), via Nuova del Bosco, snc, enabled ICRAM PALMESE S.R.L. to benefit from the incentives provided by the Ministry, allowing the company to undertake an investment that has created a solid foundation for improving both the quantity and quality of its products.
